Bid In Person At Fox Valley Auctions:

In person Bidding is when you actually are at the auction, in the room with the auctioneer and everyone. You see it up close and see the actual bids coming in from the internet and watch how the absentee bids are executed and witness the occasional frenzy of bidding on certain items. It’s the same place where you can finally pick up that one thing you’ve been searching for forever. Oh Yea, there’s no charge or fee to come and just watch. You’ll need a bidder card just in case the auctioneer catches you picking at your nose. (Just kidding)

10% Buyer’s Premium is added to the “Hammer Price” of all successful bids. We do not charge additional sales tax. Complimentary refreshments and washrooms always provided.

We offer everyone a full week for inspecting the lots we sell! We encourage people to come in early to inspect, count, take photos or whatever you wish to ensure that you will be bidding on what you think you’re bidding on. This helps both buyer & seller.

Often there will be “pre-bids” These are bids that have come in as ‘absentee’ bids. Just because an opening bid starts at a certain level, the absentee bid may end up higher than the opening bid.

Example: An absentee bidder puts in a confidential maximum bid of $100 for a lamp. Another absentee bidder placed a confidential bid of $50 on the same lamp. Therefore; the opening bid will probably (but not necessarily) start at $60. The auctioneer will ask for any advance bids (probably $70) if nobody bids more the absentee bidder gets it for $60. If another bidder raises the bid it will end up going to whoever bids the highest. We like to say, “the last bidder wins!”

Every potential bidder needs to register for a bidder’s card prior to bidding OR Lot Viewing. Needed: Valid Driver’s License or State ID Card and Major Credit Card (Note we do not accept credit cards for payment but we do need it for registration.

It’s usually standing room only. Come early for best seating!
